Vorbild -
Der "Allegra" ABe 8/12 ist ein dreiteiliger leistungsstarker zweispannungs Triebzug der Rhätischen Bahn welcher auf der 1 kVolt Gleichstromlinie über den Bernina-Pass und auf dem 11 kVolt, 16,7 Hz Wechselstrom Stammnetz eingesetzt wird. Am 13. Oktober 2009 lieferte Stadler Rail das erste Fahrzeug in die RhB in Landquart zu Testzwecken ab. Seit 2010 werden diese neuen Triebzüge von der RhB auf der Bernina- sowie auf der Arosa-Linie und auf der Strecke Landquart-Davos fahrplanmässig eingesetzt.
Die Züge sind mit komfortablen, klimatisierten Erst- und Zweitklassabteilen ausgerüstet. In der Mitte des Zuges befindet sich ein geräumiger Niederflurbereich mit grosszügigem Einstieg und Schiebetritten. Im Zug befinden sich 24 Sitzplätze Erster Klasse, 76 Sitzplätze Zweiter Klasse sowie 14 Klappsitze und zwei Rollstuhlplätze.
Höchstgeschwindigkeit ist 100 km/h

Prototype -
The "Allegra" ABe 8/12 is a three-coach high-performance dual-power multi-unit rail car of the RhB (Rhaetian Railway) placed into service on the 1 kVolt DC line over the Bernina pass and also the the 11 kVolt, 16.7 Hz AC RhB main line. Stadler Rail delivered the first unit on October 13th, 2009 to the RhB facilities in Landquart for testing purposes. As of 2010, these new multi-unit rail cars are in scheduled service on the RhB Bernina- and Arosa-line between Landquart and Davos.
These trains are equipped with comfortable, air-conditioned first-and second-class compartments. In the middle of the train is a spacious low-floor area with a generous entry and sliding steps. The train has 24 first class seats, 76 second class seats as well as 14 folding seats and two wheelchair spaces.
Top speed is 100 km/h (62 mph)
