Die Lokomotive "Saxonia" der Leipzig-Dresdner Eisenbahn-Compagnie (LDE) war die erste funktionstüchtige in Deutschland gebaute Dampflokomotive.
Sie wurde 1838 von der Maschinenbauanstalt Ãœbigau, Dresden gebaut und 1849 verschrottet.
Anlässlich des 150. Jubiläums der Einweihung der Bahnstrecke wurde diese Lok in den Jahren 1986 bis 1988 nachgebaut.

The locomotive "Saxonia" of the Leipzig-Dresdner Eisenbahn-Compagnie (Leipzig-Dresden Railroad Company) was the first operational steam locomotive built in Germany.
She was built in 1838 by the Maschinenbauanstalt (engine construction firm) Ãœbigau in Dresden, Germany and scrapped in 1849.
To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the opening of the railroad line, a full-sized, functional replica was built between 1986 and 1988
