Als 1974 die erste Serie der Disneyland Railroad-Personenwagen ausgemustert wurde, entschied das Disneyland Management einen Wagen zu erhalten und in einen Salonwagen zur Betreuung von VIP-Gästen umzubauen. Der Wagen wurde 1976 wieder in Betrieb genommen und nach Walt Disneys Frau “Lilly Belle” benannt. Sein erster Fahrgast war der japanische Kaiser Hirohito, der zu den Feierlichkeiten zum 200. Unabhängigkeitstag 1976 in den USA weilte. Der Wagen wird auch heute noch vereinzelt den regulären Zügen beigestellt, um Ehrengäste oder Gewinner von Preisausschreiben zu transportieren. Das LGB-Modell ist eine originalgetreue Umsetzung des Vorbildes. Der Wagen verfügt über eine Inneneinrichtung und die Türen lassen sich öffnen.

When the first series of Disney passenger cars were retired in 1974, the management of Disneyland decided to preserve a car and convert it to a salon car to accommodate VIP guests. The car re-entered service in 1976 and was named after Walt Disney’s wife “Lilly Belle.” The first passenger was the Japanese emperor Hirohito, who was attending the bicentennial celebration of U.S. independence. Today, the car still is used on occasion in regular trains for special guests and contest winners. The LGB model is a faithful replica of the prototype. The model features a detailed interior and opening doors.
