Das Modell LGB 2046 ist bei LGB nicht mehr gelistet - LGB schreibt aber über die LGB 22460, die auch nicht mehr hergestellt wird:
"Wenn es für normale Eisenbahnen zu steil wird, brauchen Sie eine Zahnradbahn. Bei der Zahnradlok greift ein Zahnrad in die Zahnstange zwischen den Schienen ein, und sorgt so für Vortrieb auf Steigungen, auf denen die Räder durchdrehen würden.
Das LGB-Modell ist eine Nachbildung einer klassischen Zahnrad-Ellok. Mit einem starken Spezial-Motor kann sie Steigungen bis zu 25% bewältigen (mit LGB 1021 Zahnstange), wobei eine eingebaute Sicherung die Lok vor Überlastung schützt."

Die Produktion dieses Modell war ursprünglich für Mitte l986 geplant, aber E. P. Lehmann verschob die Produktion bis Ende 1987, da der Getriebe-Mechanismus des Produktionsmusters nicht dem LGB Standard entsprach. Das Produktionsmuster welches in der 1986er Neuheitenbroschüre und im 1987 Katalog abgebildet ist hat graue Dach Isolatoren und eine silbergraues Dach während das aktuelle Modell grüne Dach Isolatoren und ein silbernes Dach besitzt.
Eine zweite Version dieser FO Lok mit der Loknummer 24 und einer dunkleren roten Lackierung wurde im Jahr 2004 unter der Produktnummer LGB 24460 ausgeliefert.

The original model LGB 2046 is no longer listed by LGB - however, LGB provides the following information about the LGB 22460 which is also no longer in production:
"To climb a steep grade, you need a rack railway. A rack railway has a toothed rack rail between the standard rails, and a rack railway loco uses a powered gear to pull the train up the rack. This LGB model of a classic, electric rack loco can climb grades up to 25% (with LGB 1021 rack rail insert). It features a special, high-torque motor and an automatic overload circuit."
With slotted screws and old motor block.
Production of this model was originally set for mid-l986, however the factory postponed production until late 1987 because they did not feel that the prototype gear box mechanism met their standards. The prototype depicted in the 1986 new items flyer and in the 1987 catalog has gray roof insulators and a silver-gray roof whereas the production model has green roof insulators and a silver roof.
A second version of this FO locomotive with the running number 24 and a darker red livery was introduced in 2004 under the product number LGB 24460. |
