Auf den Zuckerrohr- und Tropenfrucht-Plantagen Hawaiis verkehrten zahlreiche Feldbahnen. Sie können die Bahnen der Trauminsel im Pazifik mit dieser Dampflok nachbilden, deren Vorbild heute im Smithsonian Museum in Washington D. C. zu sehen ist. ♂Das LGB-Modell steht dem Original an Attraktivität nicht nach. Der flache Motorblock ermöglicht den vorbildgetreuen "Durchblick" zwischen Kessel und Fahrwerk.

Vorbild
Die Olomana zog ihre Feldbahn-Züge auf einer Zuckerplantage in Hawaii. Später wurde Sie an ein Filmstudio verkauft und nach Kalifornien gebracht. Jedoch war sie nie auf der Leinwand zu sehen. Die Lok wurde später restauriert, und steht im Smithsonian Museum in Washington, D. C.

Railroads in Hawaii? Yes! The islands were once crisscrossed with rail lines to serve the state´s gigantic sugar and fruit plantations. You can recreate this Pacific paradise with this authentic Hawaiian steam loco.♂The real Olomana is now at the Smithsons Museum in Washington, D.C., and this LGB model is as elaborately decorated as the museum piece. A low-profile drive mechanism preserves the authentic gap between the boiler and chassis.

The Prototype
For many years, this locomotive operated on a sugar plantation in Hawaii. It was brought to California as a movie prop, but never used. The loco was later restored and donated to the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, D.C., where it is on display.
