Description: English below

Vorbild

Prototype
The Engadin section of the Rhaetian Railway (RhB) from St. Moritz to Scuol is one of the many narrow-gauge lines in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. This line was operated electrically from the very beginning. In 1913 the RhB purchased seven small locomotives which were designated as Ge 2/4 201-207.
The slow-running motor was coupled directly without any gearbox via inclined rods to a jackshaft and coupling rods from there through to the large driving wheels. These locomotives were used in passenger and freight service. Several of these locomotives were converted to shunting locos with center cabs, but some were preserved in their original condition. Until the 1970s these locomotives were used in light freight service on the Engadin line.

This locomotive was manufactured by LGB from 1986 to 1991 in at least six different versions. This is the fourth version without the initials ER (Eberhard Richter) on the cab doors, a uniform light grey roof and green insulator instead of red ones.
