Nachdem die Union Pacific jahrzehntelang ihre Dampfloks einheitlich schwarz lackiert hatte, fielen die gelben Dieselloks umso mehr auf. Die berühmten F7-A Dieselloks wurden von der General Motors Electro Motive Division hergestellt. Mit ihrem formschönen Lokgehäuse gilt die 1500 PS starke F7 bis heute als Klassiker unter den amerikanischen Dieselloks.
Das große LGB-Modell bringt das berühmte “Armour Yellow” auf Ihre Anlage! Mit zwei Bühler-Motoren verfügt das Modell über eine außergewöhnliche Zugkraft. Dazu gibt es die F7 "B-Unit" (23582) mit vorbildgetreuem digitalen Sound.
Vorbild
Gegen Ende der 40-er Jahre stellte die Elektro Motive Division (EMD) von General Motors diese klassische dieselelektrische Lok vor. Mit der formschönen "Bulldoggen"-Nase und einer Leistung von 1500 PS war die F7 bei den Eisenbahngesellschaften und Fans gleichermaßen beliebt.
Fast 2400 F7-Loks wurden für viele verschiedene amerikanische Bahngesellschaften gebaut, wo sie bis in die 70-er Jahre im Güter- und Personenverkehr eingesetzt wurden.

The Prototype
