Vorbild
Am Ende des 19. Jahrhundert wurde im Harz eine Eisenbahn gebaut; Die Nordhausen Wernigeroder Eisenbahn (NWE). Da die Eisenbahn durch die Gebirge führte, wurde die Eisenbahn als Schmalspurbahn verlegt. Um das aufwändige umladen von Güter zu vermeiden, wurde Normalspur Güterwagen oft auf Rollböcke gesetzt und so über die schmale Spur transportiert. Die Rollböcke wurden anfangs mittels Kuppelstangen gekuppelt. Da dies eine schwere Belastung für die Mitarbeiter war wurden zwischen 1922 und 1926 insgesamt sechs sogenannte Offene Rangierdienst Wagen (Ord) beschafft. Sie bekamen die Nummern NWE 1001 - 1003 und 1011 - 1013. Diese Waggons hatten beidseitig, sowohl die Kupplungsmöglichkeit für Schmalspur- als auch für die Regelspurwagen. Eine Rollbockzuggarnitur wurde dann immer mit zwei Ord Wagen zusammengestellt. So konnte mann immer Fahren, Rangieren und Umlaufen.
1949 gelangten diese Waggons zur Deutsche Reichsbahn. Dort bekamen die Waggons die Nummern 99-01-89 bis 99-01-94.
1993 gingen vier von die Waggons zu den Harzer Schmalspurbahen (HSB) die diese Waggons umnummerierte zu 99-09-89, 99-09-91 bis 99-09-93. Die anderen zwei wurden schon durch die Deutsche Reichsbahn verschrottet. Von den insgesamt sechs Wagen sind also noch vier erhalten geblieben. Drei bei der HSB und ein Wagen bei der DEV in Bruchhausen-Vilsen.

At the end of the 19th century a railway was built in the Harz mountains; the Nordhausen Wernigeroder Eisenbahn (NWE). Since the railway led through the mountains, the railway was built as a narrow-gauge line. In order to avoid the time-consuming reloading of goods, standard-gauge freight cars were often placed on carrier trucks and transported over the narrow-gauge railway in that manner. In the beginning, these trucks were coupled by means of coupling rods. However, since this was a heavy burden for the employees, between 1922 and 1926 a total of six so-called open shunting service wagons (Ord) were procured. These received the road numbers NWE 1001 - 1003 and 1011 - 1013. These wagons had on both sides the coupling possibility for narrow-gauge as well as for standard-gauge cars. A roll car train set was thus always assembled with two Ord wagons. Therefore it was always possible to proceed in either direction, do switching manoeuvers and to transverse the cars from one end of the train to the other.
In 1949 these cars became part of the Deutsche Reichsbahn (German State Railways). There these wagons received road numbers 99-01-89 to 99-01-94.
In 1993 four of the cars were transferred to the Harzer Schmalspurbahen (HSB) which renumbered these to 99-09-89, 99-09-91 to 99-09-93. The other two were already scrapped by the Deutsche Reichsbahn (German State Railways). Four of the six cars have been preserved. Three at HSB and one at DEV in Bruchhausen-Vilsen.

In 2012, a general inspection was carried out on the two HSB wagons, after which the old road numbers 99-01-91 and 99-01-92 were reassigned.
